Actuary

An Actuary finds out how likely it is for something to happen. Such as how likely it is for someone to die. Or how likely it is for people to get in a crash. They usually work for insurance companies to see how likely it will be for someone to file a claim.

  1. To become an actuary you will have to go through four years of college. You will also have to pass the Actuary tests. These tests are very hard but if you pass the tests you are very likely to get the job. There is nothing certain you must major in to become an actuary. You should also know basic computer skills and be good in math.

  2. The computer skills you must know to become an Actuary are just basic computer skills but if you are more advanced in your computer skills it will help you out.

  3. The pros of this job could be that you are not always very busy. Some times you aren't is when its nice out during the winter. Another good thing about this job is that you don't have to major in anything specific in college. A couple cons of the job could be that if there are a lot of crashes going on during the winter you will be very busy and you will have to work long hours. Another con is that Actuaries often work weekends.
